Understanding invoice modes

Stagent offers four distinct invoice modes, allowing you to adjust how fees are presented to your buyers. Whether you prefer combining fees into a single invoice or splitting them for transparency, these modes provide the flexibility to suit your agency's specific needs. Let's dive in each invoice mode and how they works.

  • Single invoice: Combined fees

This mode generates a single invoice that consolidates both the artist fee and the booking fee into one total amount. It’s the simplest option, as your client will only see one total figure, which combines all fees. This mode is ideal for those who prefer a straightforward approach without separating costs on the invoice.

  • Single invoice: Specified fees

In this mode, a single invoice is created, but the artist fee and booking fee are listed separately. It provides transparency by breaking down the fees into clear line items while still allowing the client to make a single payment. This is useful if you want to clearly communicate how the fees are distributed without issuing multiple invoices.

  • Split invoices: Booking fee separately

This mode generates two separate invoices: one for the booking fee and another for the artist fee and any artist associated expenses. This option gives more granular control over how payments are handled, allowing you to keep the booking fee and artist charges completely separate. It’s useful when different payment schedules or specific tax processes are involved.

  • Split invoices: On behalf of artist

The most detailed option, this mode creates multiple invoices: one for the booking fees and individual invoices for each artist. Each artist’s invoice will include their specific artist fees and any associated expenses. Additionally, you can adjust settings to use either your agency’s bank account details or the artist’s bank account details for payments, depending on your financial arrangement.

You can set the default invoice mode from your team’s invoice settings. To override the setting on a per-event basis, simply adjust it in the event finance settings.

Bonus: Sell as show

This mode can be enabled from the event finance settings and overrules all other invoice modes. It consolidates all bookings into a single show fee, making it ideal for selling multiple performances under a shared act name or offering a complete package or ‘hosting.’

Instead of itemizing individual bookings, this mode lets you enter a total amount, which must be at least the sum of all fees combined. Any amount added on top of this total is automatically calculated as agency earnings, simplifying the invoicing process for bundled performances.
